Monitoring of driver performance, vehicle maintenance also plays a key role in achieving the overall goal of reduced operations cost.

Opportunity

The client required an integrated solution where they can manage their fleet through a web based management software and to get real-time updates of their fleet, route and operating conditions. The client required a system where drivers can see their route, accept/reject, and update their journey status through a mobile application.

Solution

Q3 provided a smart fleet management solution which included IoT sensors to read data about vehicles and route along with a web management portal for fleet owners and a mobile application for drivers.

The proposed solution provided real-time updates of the vehicles through multiple sensors including GPS, Speed, Fuel level, Battery voltage etc. These sensors were integrated with the cloud IoT platform and based on sensors’ data custom alarms were generated for vehicle parameters and driving behavior parameters (ex. Over Speeding, Harsh Acceleration). Sensors’ data were transferred on cloud through 3G/GSM/GPRS network and communication between cloud interface and sensors was through MQTT protocol.

Q3 also developed a web management portal where fleet owners can do their device and driver on-boarding, assign trips, gets real-time status update on each trip and get insights based on historical data. The web management portal was also powered with advanced data analytics to help in decision-making for better accuracy and quicker responses to a situation.

Mobile application developed on Android/IOS/Windows for the drivers to accept and reject their assigned trip, complete their trip status and dashboard showing a driver rating with respect to others in the route.
