    The client is an India-based gemstone manufacturer and global distributor with TV shopping networks in the USA and UK.

    Challenge

    The client relied on a restrictive third-party WMS lacking real-time stock visibility, automated workflows, and seamless data integration. Key warehouse operations, including show picking, invoice picking, stock movements, and returns, were handled manually, creating delays and frequent inaccuracies. Managing multiple Excel sheets, manual tracking, and disconnected systems made it difficult to maintain inventory accuracy and traceability across TV shopping, wholesale, and online channels.

    Solution

    Q3 built a custom automated WMS that streamlined all warehouse operations, replacing the limited third-party tool.

    • Multi-Layered WMS Architecture: Delivered a multi-layered WMS with workstation clients, WCF services, and SQL databases for transactions, stock, and audit trails.
    • Seamless Legacy Integration: Migrated full historical data and integrated with Inventory and Auction systems via linked servers for uninterrupted workflows.
    • Simplified Deployment: Implemented a single-click installation process to simplify rollout across all warehouse stations.
    • Comprehensive Warehouse Features: Added PutAway, guided location mapping, Show Picking & Returns, Single/Bulk Invoice Picking, stock transfers, barcode generation, and cycle counting.
    • Fully Automated Process Flow: Digitized the entire journey—Receiving → Show Pick → Show Return → Invoice Pick → Shipping → Manifesting—for better speed and accuracy.
